Freelancing in summer in Fish Hoek has to be the best job in the world. Let me explain -
Up at 5 am, couple of hours work. A long walk on the beach, followed by a swim. We have shark nets now (thank you, Cape Town City Council) so swimming is relaxed and unscary. Home and a shower, work until around 4, another swim in the late afternoon heat.
Supper under a green grape-vine-draped patio. It doesn’t get much better than this.
OK, the south-easter does spoil it sometimes, but hey, you can’t have everything!
